TradingView: analysis, Paper Trading and broker accounts

PRACTICAL GUIDE

Explained concepts, worked cases and practice to test your understanding. Numerical examples are hypothetical; replace assumptions with your instrument specifications.

01

The essentials

A TradingView account, data subscription and broker account are separate services. Viewing charts does not mean execution is connected. Paper Trading is simulation, not the same account as a trading entity's demo.

02

Understand the mechanism, not just the definition

Charts show data, Paper Trading records simulations and a broker connection sends orders to a compatible account. These are different environments within one interface. Chart data may differ from the connected account’s feed. Identify symbol, data provider, permissions and connection state before interpreting execution.

03

Example and verification

Before an order, identify the connected panel: simulation or broker, account and symbol. Charts of the same asset can use different providers and products. Record the feed and check for delayed quotes.

04

Worked case, step by step

A chart uses provider A while the trading panel uses broker B’s instrument. If prices differ, check market, product type, session and data delay first. Both names containing “gold” is insufficient. Paper Trading orders are not real broker positions, and simulated contract sizes must not be transferred without checking.

05

What to verify when applying this

Consult the official broker-integration directory and connection help. Compare subscription and trading charges separately. An embedded TradingView chart does not establish execution integration.

06

Practice: verify it in your environment

Learn by observing the process and keeping its data. Complete this practice in demo or using documentation, without sending real orders or adding capital for the exercise. Record differences between the example and your account specifications.

  1. Identify provider, delay and exact symbol before comparing prices.
  2. In simulation, verify the active panel before entering an order.
07

Test your understanding

Try the question before revealing the answer. Justify the conclusion and its assumptions rather than memorizing a number.

Does a TradingView account replace the broker contract?

Reveal the explained answer

No. The analysis tool and execution account have different functions and terms.
