First deposits: ownership, currency and beneficiary

PRACTICAL GUIDE

Explained concepts, worked cases and practice to test your understanding. Numerical examples are hypothetical; replace assumptions with your instrument specifications.

01

The essentials

Review instructions inside the official portal before sending funds. Holder, method and beneficiary must meet the entity's terms. Acceptance of a deposit does not establish permission for every method or third-party account.

02

Understand the mechanism, not just the definition

Funding creates an auditable path between account holder, bank, beneficiary and broker balance. Providers may impose source-of-funds and ownership requirements. A beneficiary differing from a trading brand is not automatically fraudulent because an authorized processor may exist, but it must still be checked against official instructions.

03

Example and verification

Privately record currency, expected net amount, beneficiary, reference and receipt. Check actual card, transfer or wallet availability for your residence. Do not send funds to personal accounts suggested by strangers.

04

Worked case, step by step

Before a hypothetical transfer, record exact beneficiary, payment reference, accepted currency, intermediaries and expected receipt. If a chat changes the beneficiary shown in the portal, stop and verify through an independently obtained official channel. A bank dispatch receipt does not establish that the broker credited the funds.

05

What to verify when applying this

Compare withdrawals before the first deposit too. Ask about checks, costs and return to origin. Do not deposit to discover a condition: request the document first and retain its version.

06

Practice: verify it in your environment

Learn by observing the process and keeping its data. Complete this practice in demo or using documentation, without sending real orders or adding capital for the exercise. Record differences between the example and your account specifications.

  1. Complete a document checklist without making a transfer for the exercise.
  2. Distinguish dispatch receipt, processor acceptance and balance credit.
07

Test your understanding

Try the question before revealing the answer. Justify the conclusion and its assumptions rather than memorizing a number.

Should you follow new bank details sent by a supposed manager in chat?

Reveal the explained answer

Only after independently verifying official instructions. Do not hand over security codes or authorize payment based on that message alone.
