Documenting an incident and assessing customer reviews

PRACTICAL GUIDE

Explained concepts, worked cases and practice to test your understanding. Numerical examples are hypothetical; replace assumptions with your instrument specifications.

01

The essentials

Complaints need verifiable entity, date, ticket, contract and response. A review describes an experience but without context does not establish a whole group's behavior. Separate interface, execution and funding issues.

02

Understand the mechanism, not just the definition

A useful incident report separates facts, expectations and unanswered explanations. Keep references, timezone-aware timestamps, statuses and official correspondence. Reviews can flag patterns, but an anonymous text does not establish what happened to your account. One resolved case does not dismiss other clients’ cases either.

03

Example and verification

Create a private timeline with screenshots, receipts and communications. Request a case number and keep official responses. Redact documents, account numbers and keys before public explanations; do not expose data to attract attention.

04

Worked case, step by step

An order filled away from your expected price. Record reference bid/ask, direction, order type, fill and time, then ask which execution rule explains the difference. A withdrawal case needs statuses and payment references instead of execution fields. Each process needs different evidence. Mask personal details before sharing a timeline.

05

What to verify when applying this

Compare contractual complaint procedures and jurisdiction. Assess reviews by context rather than stars alone. Praise does not prove absolute safety, and criticism alone does not establish fraud.

06

Practice: verify it in your environment

Learn by observing the process and keeping its data. Complete this practice in demo or using documentation, without sending real orders or adding capital for the exercise. Record differences between the example and your account specifications.

  1. Write a neutral timeline with verifiable references.
  2. Ask a specific question and keep the official response.
07

Test your understanding

Try the question before revealing the answer. Justify the conclusion and its assumptions rather than memorizing a number.

Is a chart screenshot enough to document execution?

Reveal the explained answer

No. Add the relevant quote, order, time, size and fill record; the chart may use another price or provider.
